Floating floors (engineered floors) consist of 3 different layers of compressed timbers. Your top layer consists of real timber, with a thickness of about 4 mm. Your next 2 timbers are made up of ply, one vertical and one horizontal. This adds to the structure and strength of your floating floor. Your floating floors are generally more stable and less susceptible to movement and are very popular because they can be installed straight over a concrete slab with an underlay as cushioning. They come in a variety of 3 different styles. Single strip, double strip and three strip which gives you the customer more versatility in price. These floors can certainly add beauty and warmth to any home. Floating floors also have the benefit of being delivered on site as a pre finished floor (no sanding or coatings required).

One of the benefits to this, as with bamboo floors is, you get a factory finished coating every time. Please keep in mind you always have the option of coating your floating floors as a new product for years down the track.
